Inter-camera color calibration by correlation model function
نویسنده
چکیده
We present a novel solution to the inter-camera color calibration problem, which is very important for multi-camera systems. We propose a distance metric and a model function to evaluate the inter-camera radiometric properties. Instead of depending on the shape assumptions of brightness transfer function to find separate radiometric responses, we derive a non-parametric function to model color distortion for pair-wise camera combinations. Our method is based on correlation matrix analysis and dynamic programming. The correlation matrix is computed from three 1-D color histograms, and the model function is obtained from a minimum cost path traced within the matrix. The model function enables accurate compensation of color mismatches, which cannot be done with conventional distance metrics. Furthermore, we show that our metric can be reduced to other commonly used metrics with suitable simplification. Our simulations prove the effectiveness of the proposed method even for severe color distortions. This work may not be copied or reproduced in whole or in part for any commercial purpose. Collaborative color calibration for multi-camera systems
This paper proposes a collaborative color calibration method for multi-camera systems. The multi-camera color calibration problem is formulated as an overdetermined linear system, in which a dynamic range shaping is incorporated to ensure the high contrasts for captured images. The cameras are calibrated with the parameters obtained by solving the linear system. For non-planar multi-camera syst...
متن کاملPrediction Accuracy of Color Imagery from Hyperspectral Imagery
In this paper we present the utilization of high-spectral resolution imagery for improving low-spectral resolution imagery. In our analysis, we assume that an acquisition of high spectral resolution images provides more accurate spectral predictions of low spectral resolution images than a direct acquisition of low spectral resolution images. We illustrate the advantages by focusing on a specif...
متن کاملImaging Colorimetry Using a Digital Camera
In this work, we investigate the use of a digital camera for colorimetry. Our system consists of a measurement device and a corresponding calibration mapping. The goal is to design a system that will accurately assess the color of a sample. We develop two colorimetry systems by applying model-based and regression-based techniques. For both systems, the measurement device is formed by a digital ...
متن کاملMulti-camera calibration, object tracking and query generation
An automatic object tracking and video summarization method for multi-camera systems with a large number of non-overlapping field-of-view cameras is explained. In this framework, video sequences are stored for each object as opposed to storing a sequence for each camera. Objectbased representation enables annotation of video segments, and extraction of content semantics for further analysis. We...
متن کاملObject tracking across non-overlapping views by learning inter-camera transfer models
In this paper, we introduce a novel algorithm to solve the problem of object tracking across multiple nonoverlapping cameras by learning inter-camera transfer models. The transfer models are divided into two parts according to different kinds of cues, i.e. spatio-temporal cues and appearance cues. To learn spatiotemporal transfer models across cameras, an unsupervised topology recovering approa...
